How to decorate a small space T0?

Smaller spaces may limit the decoration, but only if you don't follow these valuable tips. Make your studio look like a bigger space than it is.

Houses are getting smaller and smaller, that's a fact. This is the reality nowadays, especially in apartment buildings. In such cases, it is important to build several dwellings, so the space in each room ends up always compromised.

It is important to adapt to the reality in which you live, if that is your case, and take advantage of all the characteristics of a studio. The following tips apply to any small spaces, regardless of the number of rooms there is.

Less is more

Sounds like a cliché, right? But this is one of the best tips we can give you so that your studio isn't "just" a small space. By this we mean that it is important to take advantage of all the potential of the place, not overloading it.

Less is more, so don't bet on too much decoration or too much furniture. Choose functional furniture that offers enough storage space instead of having one piece of furniture for each function.

Small spaces also benefit from a more minimalist decoration, where white and pastel tones are the privileged ones. This is the harmony that is sought to turn a studio into a larger space than it is.

Choose monochromatic tones; prefer the built-in furniture or beds with inferior storagespace rather than the conventional options. Decorate the space with what you need and don't exaggerate on the decorative objects.

Make room for color

With the previous tip, we don't want to say that you have to forget about colors, because they are the ones that give more personality to a room. Take advantage of the monochromatic tones you already chose and add elements of color that "stand out".

You can do this on cushions, lamps or even carpets. But don't overdo it, because you must maintain the harmony you've guaranteed so far. Choose a prominent element and give it the life it deserves.

Divide the space

A studio doesn't have to be small, because it has all the divisions it needs. You can always choose between leaving the space broad and combining the living room with the bedroom (by including a sofa bed, for example), or divide it.

You can choose between plasterboard, screens or "sliding doors" (which open and close depending on the occasion). You can also mark this division of the space with plants or shelves, for example.

Use mirrors

Mirrors have the particularity of giving more light and wideness to a room, so you can use this decorative element as you wish. Mirrors can also be placed on the walls, not taking up unnecessary space in a studio.

Two spaces in one

If you don't want to divide the studio using the examples mentioned above, you can always divide each space by using different colors on the walls. Therefore, you can choose different tones that differentiate the living room from the bedroom.

You can also choose wallpaper or even cover certain walls with a different material so that the distinction of spaces is more evident and thus more organized.
